Sailing Programs For Youth and Adults
SUMMER SAILING COURSES AVAILABLE 2017
The 2017 Sailing Day Camp Programs runs from June 19th through August 11th.
LEARN HOW TO SAIL "L2S" Your BEGINNER HOW TO SAIL PROGRAM. Fundamentals of Sailing, new sailors "get their feet wet" while learning sail boat safety using the "Start Sailing Right" curriculum by US Sailing and the American Red Cross. Learn the parts of a sailboat, how to rig sailboats, basic boat sailing skills and knot tying.
Class size limited to 12 students. The 2 week class will be only be offered 3 times in 2017.
Prerequisites: Life vest, swim test and desire to go sailing.
Students will have ten full days of sailing fun on the water! (8:30 - 4PM)
$445.00 + $80.00 Boat use fee.
"Fast Track Learn to Sail" NEW! Specifically designed for teenaged kids 12-18 who are interested in a focused training program, that can get them ready to join Team North Star Race Team for the 2017 season if desired.
Date: Monday thru Friday, June 19-23
$300 + 80 boat use fee (credit applied to Race Program)
SILVER FLEET Also known as INTERMEDIATE SAILING PROGRAM, is for kids who know how to sail but don't want to commit to a traveling inter club racing schedule.
A place to have some summer water fun and hone sailing skills. Sailboat crewing opportunities during the Summer Wednesday night "Big Boat Sailing", on North Star Sail Club members sailboats in Lake St. Clair are possible to the youth and family.
Prerequisites: Learn To Sail Course 1 or demonstrated sailing ability. Summer program runs five full days per week.
Full Season $950.00 + 100.00 Boat use fee. Half Season $525.00 + $100.00 Boat use fee.
TEAM NORTH STAR RACING TEAM Trains AND Competes five days a week. Traveling to local area boat clubs, competing in regattas, while making lifelong sailor friendships.
Participants will be coached in advanced sailing skills, racing tactics and rules.
Requirement: Parents are require to volunteer for 8 hours. Help with transportation or on shore supervision.
$1000.00 + $140.00 Boat use fee.
Adults 18 and over learn to sail in a small group setting, using small keel boats on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings over a 3 week session.
This is our basic how to sail program tailored to the adult sailor in a small group setting.
Learn to Sail Adult Classes are held at mutually decided schedule between instructor and students. Sailboat crewing opportunities during the Summer Wednesday night "Big Boat Sailing", upon North Star Sail Club members sailboats in Lake St. Clair are possible to adults too.

Private Lessons: $200/person per 2 hour session.
